SCALE IT UP!
Scaling up a sustainable model for communities living in non-regulated areas to improve their living conditions – SCALE IT UP!
Welcome to the SCALE IT UP! Project website!
The objective of the SCALE IT UP! Project is to transfer and scale up the application of a model for regulating unregulated Roma settlements developed, piloted, and successfully applied by the Trust for Social Achievement Foundation in Bulgaria. The project targets municipal authorities and Roma community leaders across Bulgaria and seeks to inform, raise awareness, increase capacity and create synergies between stakeholders on all levels.
About TSA

The Trust for Social Alternative Foundation (TSA) is a not-for-profit organization established in 2012. TSA’s chief aim is to help Bulgaria’s disadvantaged – with a focus on the Roma community, which experiences the highest rates of poverty and exclusion – to achieve educational and economic success and to thereby break the poverty cycle. It has assembled a team of highly experienced, educated, and motivated individuals with diverse backgrounds from the private, public, research, and the nonprofit sector. Over the past nine years, our team has developed ever-deepening expertise by serving beneficiaries in 640 locations throughout Bulgaria and through extensive travels and discussions with a wide range of communities, we have gained broad insights into the key barriers and challenges faced by impoverished and marginalized families in Bulgaria.
